This is one of the most beautiful species of bamboo in Thailand. The first six
pictures show the recent flowering taking place in central Thailand.
(Petchaburi) The orange culms are those which are flowering and dieing.
Only time will tell if all the plants in this region will die to to gregarious
flowering or if they will be spared. The bottom 4 pictures show plants started
from culm cuttings just 6 months previously. You can see the dark greem
culms, white nodal rings and fine foliage which make these plants so popular.
